A Week With Legends of Slots: Controls And Settings That Just Work

June 13, 2026 · Klara Meinhardt

I didn't expect to keep opening Legends of Slots, but it wormed its way into my phone routine. It's a casual match-and-clear game with a spinning-reel twist: you line up themed symbols and that chips away at little puzzle boards. The hook is how low-friction it is.

The controls are where it earns its place. One tap spins, and you can swipe to lock reels before they settle, so there's a small layer of decision-making under the simplicity. I played most of it one-handed and never fumbled a tap, which says something about how the touch targets are sized.

The settings menu deserves a shout. You can reduce particle effects, split music from sound effects, and kill the screen shake. Turning down effects dropped our measured battery use noticeably — closer to six percent in half an hour instead of nine or ten. On a long commute that's the difference between arriving with charge or not.

My advice: go into settings first, lower the effects, and keep the sound effects on because the little symbol-clink is oddly satisfying. The later boards get repetitive, but as a short-session game to unwind with, Legends of Slots does exactly what it sets out to do.
